The Gits mix takes the guesswork out of making traditional Indian sweets. It is formulated with the perfect ratio of milk solids, flour, and leavening agents.

Key Characteristics:

Consistency: Unlike making khoya from scratch (which can be tricky), the Gits mix ensures the texture of the jamuns remains soft and spongy every single time.

Ease of Use: You only need to add water (or milk) to the mix to form a soft dough.

Authentic Taste: It captures that classic, rich, and slightly nutty flavor expected of a high-quality gulab jamun.

Best For: When you want to prepare a high-quality Indian dessert quickly for guests, family, or personal enjoyment.

Preparation Tips for Success

Mixing the Dough: Use your palms to knead the mix with water or milk. Don't over-knead; just mix until it forms a smooth, crack-free dough. Let it rest for about 5–10 minutes.

Shaping: Apply a little ghee or oil to your palms to ensure the jamuns come out smooth and crack-free when rolling. Any cracks in the raw dough will lead to cracking while frying.

The Frying Process: This is the most important part. Always fry on low to medium-low heat. If the oil is too hot, the outside will turn dark brown while the inside remains raw. Fry until they are a beautiful, uniform golden-brown.

Soaking: Prepare your sugar syrup (sugar + water + cardamom) while the jamuns are resting. When you drop the hot fried jamuns into the warm syrup, let them soak for at least 30–45 minutes to absorb all the sweetness and reach their full size.
