Unpolished Rahar Dal (often written as Unpolished Toor/Arhar Dal) is the most natural, premium grade of split pigeon peas available in the market. Unlike regular polished dal, it does not undergo any artificial treatments.
What is "Unpolished"? Traditional polished dals are treated with water, oil, leather, or chemical powder to give them a shiny, bright look. Unpolished dal skips this entirely. The grains look slightly dull and natural but are 100% pure and free from added moisture or oils.
Taste and Flavor: Because the natural outer layers remain intact, it retains its original, deeply rich, nutty flavor. It tastes exactly like traditional farm-fresh dal.
Cooking & Yield: It takes slightly longer to cook compared to highly polished variants, but it provides a superior, creamy texture once boiled. Because it contains no added oil or artificial moisture, you get a higher actual yield (quantity) of dal per kg.
